Over 320 huts in the city were destroyed in two separate fire accidents - each in Periamet and Vysarpadi in the early hours of Friday. A total of 300 huts were destroyed in a fire accident that occurred in Thidir Nagar, adjacent to the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Periamet. Over 50 huts were destroyed in another fire accident on Tuesday in the same locality.
