About 1,600 candidates selected by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) for various Group-II posts on October 7 can hope to join their duties soon with the Madras high court directing authorities to issue appointment letters to eligible candidates within six weeks.
The University Grants Commission(UGC) has selected the University of Madras as a university with potential for excellence. The university stands to get Rs 25 crore under the scheme.
